On behalf of all Nebraska Daughters, I welcome you to the website of the Nebraska State Organization, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).
NSDAR, founded October 11, 1890, currently has more than 170,000 members in 3000 chapters in all 50 states and Washington, DC, and international chapters in eleven countries.
The National motto of NSDAR is "God, Home and Country" and since its founding the mission of NSDAR has been to promote education, patriotism and historic preservation. Much of the work of the organization is accomplished under a committee system coordinated by local, state and national chairmen.
The Nebraska State Society, founded in 1894, currently has approximately 1100 members in 29 chapters throughout the state. Nebraska Daughters strive to promote the themes and objectives of NSDAR through work in their local chapters with guidance from state and national leadership.
Nebraska Daughters also promote the objectives of NSDAR through special state and local projects. During the next two years the theme of the Nebraska Society will be "Preserving Nebraska's Prairie Heritage", emphasizing preservation of the history of the traditions, institutions and customs of the varied groups who lived on and transformed the prairies, and, working cooperatively with other agencies and organizations, supporting the efforts of those who endeavor to preserve portions of the natural prairie for educational, ecological and aesthetic purposes.
With the unique collections of interests, talents, backgrounds and energy of the Nebraska Daughters, we are confident that we will make great strides in "Preserving Nebraska's Prairie Heritage."
Whether you are interested in joining NDSAR or want to learn more about our organization, we thank you for visiting our website and hope that you will find the information interesting and useful.
Sincerely,
Judy Ekeler
Nebraska State Regent
