Meetings are the 1st Saturday of the month (Oct. - June) held at the Senior Services Center - 212 Yellowstone Ave. -Alliance
POINT OF
ROCK CHAPTER WAS ORGANIZED FEBRUARY 22, 1919. IT WAS NAMED FOR A
SMALL CLIFF ABOUT FIFTEEN MILES NORTHWEST OF THE TOWN OF
ALLIANCE. THE POINT COULD BE SEEN FOR MANY MILES IN EITHER
DIRECTION AND NEAR IT WERE COOL SPRINGS OF WATER. IT WAS A PART
OF THE SIDNEY-BLACK HILLS TRAIL THAT TOOK A NORTH-NORTHWESTERLY
ROUTE FROM SIDNEY, NE TO THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTH DAKOTA. IT
BECAME A LANDMARK AND A STOPPING PLACE FOR IMMIGRANT WAGONS
GOING WEST.
